Gold Series - Colombia Honey Caturron

Caturron is a rare coffee variety unique to Colombia, a mutation of Caturra that has garnered attention for its distinct flavor profile. This one, from Finca Villa Betulia in Huila, is complex: It has an herbal element (think mint) coupled with notes of black cherry and chai tea-like spices.

Luis Anibal Calderon at Finca Villa Betulia, situated about a mile above sea level, has earned a reputation for producing high-quality coffee. He has preserved his father's coffee-growing legacy and is now co-managing the family estate with his son, Yeison.

Adding to this coffee's uniqueness is the fact that it underwent two 50-hour fermentations and is honey processed — a compromise between the more traditional washed and natural processing methods.
